Relay Module 10A 2 Channel
Relay Module 10A 2 Channel - A Relay is a digital switch to control much higher voltages and currents than your normal Arduino boards do. When inputs a logic voltage, the relay will switch to allow current to flow or cutoff, depending on your wiring. A Relay usually consists of a coil, 1 common terminal, 1 normally closed terminal and one normally open terminal. When the coil is energized, the common terminal and the normally open terminal will have continuity.
Why do we want to use a relay and do we really need to? Anytime you want to switch on/off a device that draws more current or works with a high voltage, you'll need to use a relay, such as controlling headlights, parking lights, horns, etc. There are also the 4-Channel Relay Module and 8-Channel Relay Module for your option. Please Note that Connect the VCC to JD-VCC with the jumper when using.
5V 2-Channel Relay Module – Description
Do you look for a competent Arduino
relay module to control high voltage devices such as fans, heaters, lights, and other household products? Well, it is compulsory to grasp that Arduino
doesn’t handle this high voltage appliance directly since it operates at 5V voltage. But the fascinating prospect involved is that you can use a relay module to switch the high voltage and control these products.
What is a Relay Module?
It seems pertinent to learn about the relay module itself before we proceed to know how it works and how we can use it to power high voltage devices. Well, a relay module is simply an electronic switch that allows the current to pass through and can be turned on and off as per requirements. Hence, it is a dedicated component that is used to control the flow of the current and it can be turned on/off automatically as per the strength of the receiver.
Further, the relay module is assembled to be controlled with low voltage appliances such as 3.3V (ESP8266, ESP32) as well as 5V Arduino
. On the top, a relay module hosts a channel like a cube and it can be in the form of a two-channel, 4-channel, 8-channel, etc. Further, a simple relay unit carries a wire coil that is wrapped around a soft iron core. As soon as the electric current gets through the coil, it creates a magnetic field that further activates the armature.
2-Channel Relay Module (5V) 10A
It is a potent relay module unit with dual channels on the top. The interface board supports 5V voltage and can be used to control other equipment that requires a larger electric current. It can be controlled using 5V logic signals from a microcontroller. Moreover, the system features a 1x4 pin header for connecting power along with controlling the 2 relays.
The marking points of various pins are as below:
- GND: to connect 0V
- IN1: to control relay 1
- IN2: to control relay 2
- VCC: to connect 5V to this pin and helps power the optocouplers
- The 2-channel relay module executes dual channels to control electric flows.
- It has a red-colored relay status indicator light.
- The power indicator is green.
- The relay module reflects a fixed bolt hole.
- It offers strong driving ability with 8550 transistor-driven.
