Triple Axis Electronic Magnetoresistive Compass HMC5883L


The Triple Axis Electronic Magnetoresistive Compass HMC5883L is a magnetometer module based on the HMC5883L sensor chip. It is a low-field magnetic sensing device. Further, it converts a magnetic field into 3 differential voltages that represent the 3 axes of rotation. This voltage shifts can be used to calculate headings and bearings. This device has an operating voltage of 5VDC and communicates using the I2C protocol.


To integrate this with an Arduino, you need 2 pins for the I2C (SDA/SCL) and 2 pins for the power (VCC/GND). You can also use premade libraries, including the one specified below.
