S13V10F5 5V Step-Up/Step-Down Regulator (2.8–22V In, up to 1A)

Battery voltage going up and down? The Pololu S13V10F5 is a compact buck-boost (step-up/step-down) DC-DC regulator that keeps your output at a stable 5V even when your supply drops below 5V or rises above it. Great for portable builds, robotics, and “one power rail” projects where efficiency matters.

Only 3 pins: VIN, GND, VOUT—easy to drop into breadboards/perfboards (0.1″ spacing).

Notes: This module has no enable pin and no reverse-voltage protection. If you need a hard on/off, add an external switch.

How to identify: Compared to the similar S13V15F5 / S13V20F5, this version can be recognized by its inductor style and the resistor marking “81C” on the bottom side.

FAQ

  • Can this power a 5V Arduino from a single Li-ion cell?

    Yes—this is a classic use case. It boosts when the cell is below 5V and bucks when the input is above 5V (within current/thermal limits).

  • Why is “up to 1A” not always guaranteed?

    Like most tiny DC-DC modules, max continuous current depends on VIN, ambient temperature, and cooling. For best results, keep wiring short and allow airflow.

  • Does it have an on/off pin?

    No—only VIN/GND/VOUT. Use an external switch if you need power control.
