Arduino - Used by tinkerers, hobbyists, and makers to design and build devices that interact with the real world, Arduino is an open hardware development board. While Arduino refers to a specific type of board design, it can also be used to refer to a company that manufactures a specific implementation of these boards. Let us gather some more detailed information about Arduino, and cover all its aspects, swipe down.
The Arduino platform does attain popularity among the people for good reason. Moreover, to learn to program, the Arduino IDE uses a simplified version of C++, making it easier. Arduino also provides the factors that break out the functions of the micro-controller into a more accessible package.
The Arduino hardware and software was designed for anyone interested in
creating interactive objects or environments, and for artists, designers,
hobbyists, hackers, newbies. When it comes to interaction than with GPS units,
cameras, the internet, buttons, LEDs, motors, speakers, and even with your
smart-phone or your TV, Arduino interacts well. Furthermore, the hardware
boards are pretty cheap, Arduino
software is free and both the software and hardware are easy to learn has led
to a large community of users.
The Arduino is an open-source electronics platform, and the Arduino board is not a Microcontroller. The Arduino board has Microcontrollers, LED’s, PCB, and many other connections. Probably, to control a motor, read from the sensor, and in small computations, it is used to do input & output operations.
There are distinctive types of Arduino boards which are following
· Arduino UNO (R3)
· LilyPad Arduino
· Red Board
· Arduino Mega (R3)
· Arduino Leonardo
· Arduino UNO (R3)
The Arduino UNO R3 is a new board and by comparing it with the previous Arduino boards it has some additional features. The Arduino UNO uses the Atmega16U2 instead of 8U2 and it allows a faster transfer rate & more memory. IOREF is the first pin that allows the shields to adapt to the voltage from the board. The other pin is not connected and it is reserved for future purposes. The working of Arduino R3 is by all existing shields and it will adapt new shields that use these additional pins.
This board is an Arduino Programmable Microcontroller and it is designed to integrate easily into e-textiles & wearable projects. This Arduino board consists of an Atmega 328 with the Arduino bootloader and to keep it as a small minimum external component is required.
To have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing, this Arduino technology was designed and developed creatively. There is an availability of various input, output, and sensor boards and they are washable.
Consists of 54 digital input/output pins, the Arduino Mega is a type of Microcontroller. From the total pins 14 pins are used for the PWM output, for analog inputs 16 pins used and for the hardware serial port of the UART, 4 pins are required to function. There are pins like a crystal oscillator of 16 MHz, USB connection, RESET pin, ICSP header, and a power jack.
Features of the
Arduino Mega (R3):
· ATmega2560 Microcontroller
· Input voltage – 7-12V
· 54 Digital I/O Pins (14 PWM outputs)
· 16 Analog Inputs
· 256k Flash Memory
· 16Mhz Clock Speed
It is based on the ATmega32u4 datasheet, the Leonardo Arduino board is a Microcontroller board. In total it has 20 pins from the total number of pins, for the pulse width modulation output 7 pins come into use and 12 pins are used as an analog input. 16MHz crystal oscillator is also present, and a micro USB connection, RESET pin, and power jack.
By using the USB cable of mini-B, the Arduino red board is programmed with the help of Arduino IDE software. It will work in Windows 8 OS, without any modifications in the security system. Because USB and FTDI chips are used the Arduino red board is more constant and they are flat on the back.
