A DS18B20 is a 1-wire digital temperature sensor. It can provide 12 bits of precision from its internal digital-to-analog converter. It works great with an Arduino board using a single digital pin. Usable with 3V to 5V boards.

You no longer need to add a 1k resistor since it soldered in this module. Just prepare to connect the pins to your Arduino board.
