shop/ cellular/ gprs/gsm sim900 module arduino shield -

SIM900-based GSM/GPRS shield that stacks straight onto your Arduino. Give any project the ability to send and receive SMS, make and take calls, and pull data over GPRS. Handy when WiFi isn't around.

GPRS class B, so it runs one service at a time. A call or SMS pauses the GPRS session and it resumes once you're done.

Specs

Chip SIM900, quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
GPRS Multi-slot class 10/8, mobile station class B (one service at a time)

Supply 3.1V to 4.8V
Sleep current ~1.5mA
Operating temp -40C to +85C
Extras 2-in-1 headset jack

Pop in a SIM and it does most of what a basic phone does. Good base for a DIY phone, remote alerts, or an SMS-controlled build.
