Fingerprint Sensor AS608 - A Beginner's Guide
One touch can replace keys. This project uses an optical fingerprint sensor to enroll users and then grant access with a quick scan.
read tutorial →A diode is a semiconductor device that essentially acts as a one-way switch for current. It allows current to flow easily in one direction but severely restricts current from flowing in the opposite direction.
Diodes are also known as rectifiers because they change alternating current (ac) into pulsating direct current (dc). Diodes are rated according to their type, voltage, and current capacity.
Diodes have polarity, determined by an anode (positive lead) and the cathode (negative lead). Most diodes allow current to flow only when a positive voltage reaches the anode.
It is a 1N4148 diode, a standard silicon switching device. It is enclosed with sealed glass with a stud on each side that provides stability. It has a maximum current carrying capacity of 300mA and can withstand a current peaking at 2A. It can
operate in temperatures from -65°C to 175°C.
This diode specialty is a fast recovery time of 8 nanoseconds(ns) at a forward current of 10mA.
It can be used on circuits to prevent reverse polarity, current flow regulator. It can serve as half-wave and full-wave rectifiers.
