DC Motor 395 12V

DC Motor 395 12V – A DC motor is a machine that is used to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. A direct current is transferred in the form of electrical energy that is further transformed into mechanical rotation. This integration is defined as a category of electrical motors that are implemented to convert direct current electrical power into mechanical energy. Hence, we can term a DC motor as a motor that can work using direct current (DC).

Historically, the first DC motor was assembled around the 1840s. These motors were commercially unsuccessful since these developments use battery power and batteries were very expensive. However, the scenario changed with the establishment of electrical grids and the discovery of rechargeable batteries. It encouraged the introduction of the first DC motor on the market. Since then, a DC motor continues to improve and brings brushed DC motors across multiple applications.

How does a DC Motor Work?

When it comes to examining the working mechanism of a DC motor, it presents a technical prospect before users. There is a rotor located inside the motor whereas the stator is integrated outside the motor. The rotor hosts coil windings powered by the Dc current while the stator features either permanent magnets or electromagnetic windings. As soon as the DC current flows through the motor, it creates a magnetic field within the stator to attract the magnets on the rotor.

Ultimately, it stimulates the rotor to rotate and there is also a commutator that makes the rotor rotate when the rotor part aligns with the magnetic field, it would stop spinning. However, the commutator would put the current on the reverse direction through the stator to further reverse the magnet field. Hence, the DC motor continues to work with the rotor keep spinning.
