Fingerprint Sensor AS608 - A Beginner's Guide
One touch can replace keys. This project uses an optical fingerprint sensor to enroll users and then grant access with a quick scan.
read tutorial →A potentiometer is a three-legged resistor with a rotating contact that forms an adjustable voltage divider. Using two terminals acts like a variable resistor or a rheostat.
The primary use of a potentiometer is to act as a voltage divider and is used to measure electric potential/voltage. A potentiometer is needed to control electrical devices such as volume control on audio equipment. Potentiometer rarely controls the power that is more than a Watt. Since the power dissipated in the potentiometer would be the same as the power in the controlled load.
Linear taper potentiometers have a resistive element of constant cross-section, resulting in a device where the resistance between the contact and one end terminal is proportional to the distance between them.
This potentiometer is a linear taper potentiometer with a maximum resistance of 10kΩ. It has terminals that are separated in 0.2" and are breadboard friendly. The rotational travel is 300° and a static stop strength of 90oz-in. It has a rotational torque of 0.5 oz-in to 1.25 oz-in.
