read tutorial →The KY-010 Optical Fracture Sensor Module, also known as a Photo Interrupter Module or Light Barrier Sensor, is an infrared (IR)-based sensor designed to detect the presence or movement of objects by monitoring interruptions in an infrared light beam. The module consists of an IR emitter and an IR phototransistor positioned opposite each other, producing a digital signal whenever an object blocks the light path.
Operating on 3.3V to 5V DC, the KY-010 is compatible with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontroller platforms. Its fast response time and simple digital output make it ideal for object detection, position sensing, rotation counting, and automation applications.
