NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers

NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers - Round and round and round they go! 24 ultra bright smart LED NeoPixels are arranged in a circle with 2.6" (66mm) outer diameter. The rings are 'chainable' - connect the output pin of one to the input pin of another. Use only one microcontroller pin to control as many as you can chain together! Each LED is addressable as the driver chip is inside the LED. Each one has ~18mA constant current drive so the color will be very consistent even if the voltage varies, and no external choke resistors are required making the design slim. Power the whole thing with 5VDC and you're ready to rock.

There is a single data line with a very timing-specific protocol. Since the protocol is very sensitive to timing, it requires a real-time microconroller such as an AVR, Arduino, PIC, mbed, etc. It cannot be used with a Linux-based microcomputer or interpreted microcontroller such as the netduino or Basic Stamp. Our wonderfully-written Neopixel library for Arduino supports these pixels! As it requires hand-tuned assembly it is only for AVR cores but others may have ported this chip driver code so please google around. An 8MHz or faster processor is required.

Frequently Asked Questions About NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers

Q1: What is a NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers?

A NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers is a circular array of 24 RGB LEDs that are arranged in a ring shape. Each LED has an integrated driver circuit that allows it to be individually controlled and addressed. The NeoPixel Ring is a popular choice for hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts who want to add colorful lighting effects to their projects.

Q2: What is the size of a NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers?

A NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers typically has a diameter of about 60mm (2.4 inches).

Q3: How do I power a NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers?

A NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers requires a 5V power supply. The power supply should be able to provide enough current to power all 24 LEDs at full brightness. It is recommended to use a power supply that can provide at least 1.5A of current.

Q4: How do I control a NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers?

A NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers can be controlled by a microcontroller, such as an Arduino or Raspberry Pi. The microcontroller sends signals to the LED ring via a digital output pin. There are libraries available for many programming languages that make it easy to control NeoPixel Rings.

Q5: How do I wire a NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers?

To wire a NeoPixel Ring 24x5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers to a microcontroller, you need to connect three wires: power, ground, and data. The power wire should be connected to a 5V power supply. The ground wire should be connected to the ground of the power supply and the microcontroller.

The data wire should be connected to a digital output pin on the microcontroller. The data wire carries the signals that control the individual LEDs in the ring. It is important to note that NeoPixel Rings require precise timing of the signals, so it is recommended to use a microcontroller with a dedicated hardware timer to ensure accurate signal timing.

Comes as a single ring with 24 individually addressable RGB LEDs assembled and tested.
